WALK THE TALK & DO THE WORK
Impact Report
In the past 1 year, I have:
SUCCESS LEAVES CLUES
We asked Toroti for Clues
Something that catalyzed your growth - besides working hard?
I'll share three things. First is a mindset shift I got at the Profit Year Bootcamp by SHOWUP HQ; "Done is better than perfect". It liberated me from the fear of starting because I understood that I'd never truly know how well I can do something until I start. It set me on course to start showing up.
Second, I came to understand that God provides for every assignment. If He sent you, you'll have all you need - resources, people, opportunities, even access to the right information. He is always reliable!
Third is a conversation I had with a mentor, Elizabeth Okonji, about how women often self-sabotage and talk themselves out of pitching for opportunities (she probably won't remember this conversation). It gave me the courage to pitch for some opportunities I never would have pitched for otherwise, and I got those opportunities.
Something you're most proud of?
Starting HR Primer and Primer PSL. I'm the kind of person who would want things perfectly lined up first, and that meant I'd have so many ideas and never implement them. But I started HR Primer even when I didn't have all the pieces perfect yet. It was a solution that people needed, and the best way to get them the solution was to give it to them.
I'm also very proud of the results my clients get. It brings me so much joy to see them receive not just career coaching but also preparation for the world of work and life skills that truly equip them. I love seeing them win!
On Courage and Showing Up
There are people who need your brilliance. You're starving them of it if you don't show up. Be that light for them! Don't leave them stranded or searching the wrong places. They'll find you when you show up. It's okay if you don't have it all together yet. Where you are is a good place to start.
Worth Remembering
You'll never truly know how well you can do something until you do it. So do it!
