SUCCESS LEAVES CLUES

We asked Folasade for Clues

Something that catalyzed your growth - besides working hard?

Having a supportive husband.

Something you're most proud of?

Launched a community to support African creators living in the diaspora. So far, we have 54 creators from Canada, Australia, Ireland, England, Zambia, America and Nigeria. Some members got in with zero knowledge of content creation, but with each month, we have experts come in to help them level up their skills. The Buddy System also makes sure they connect with and learn from each other. So far we’ve had 10s of first videos. One creator sent her first invoice. Another negotiated a brand deal from USD 500 to USD 800.

On Courage and Showing Up

“What if people see I’m also learning how to make videos?” “It feels cringe.” “What if they laugh?”
And to these I say, you just need a change of perspective. The learner today is the expert tomorrow. I want you to never be ashamed to be seen trying something new, don't be afraid to be seen as a beginner. The truth is whether or not you start now, the time will still pass, so why not just do it? So embrace the ‘embarrassment’ of being a learner. Remember, embarrassment is the cost of entry.🤍

Worth Remembering

Your fear of looking like a beginner is holding you back. Embarrassment is the cost of entry.
